Post the output of 'hexdump -C install.sh | tail'
(install bsdmainutils package if you don't have hexdump)

My money is that there's a carriage return ('0d' in hexdump) in there
somewhere - has the file been anywhere near Windows?  For example, if it was
on a file share and opened by a Windows machine.
