Hey mark!

ml> which type2 packet format do you use?

Heh, heh. That is a loaded question. In reality none but if you *really* mean
which version gets tacked onto outbound pkt's then I am not sure at the moment
which format it matches but for sure it is no longer the original type2 and it
definetly isn't the one where the domain is used. Which version does that
leave? ;-)

ml> likely because you aren't involved in any other networks than
 ml> fidonet ;)

Not true except if you mean ftn-ish style networks and then it is true.
Speaking in favour of fidonet, I do like the idea of text based message bases
that I have access to using a terminal, especially utf8 text these days. Also
I have never been a fan of web based solutions especially for messaging so
fidonet has fit in since way back when the earth's crust was still cooling.
Too bad about some of the goofiness that has leaked into fidonet networking
over the years but I found that I could compensate or totally ignore it so no
harm done.

Life is good,
Maurice

... Don't cry for me I have vi.
