>>> Richard Meic on Time and Again
RM> The nature of time/space seems to contradict any theory of a beginning
RM> to the universe. Unless your the kind that would cop out and state
RM> that time/space was made to _look_ that way .
Ancient universe: Open space/time finite in extent, hence edges to the world
and a beginning or creation of time.
Newtonian universe: Open space/time infinite in extent, hence no beginning
nor end but just infinite extension.
Modern universe. Closed bounded space/time finite in extent and without
edges, thus extension in any direction will eventually return. Hence cyclic
time.
Psychological universe. My awareness of time extends backwards to my birth
and forwards to now with some glimpses beyond.
Conclusion: time without beginning and end can be effected two ways;
infinite time that always was and always will be; cyclic time that
continually repeats.
... In no time at all time began for its time had come.
