One of the best places for recovery if you ask me is Compuserve's
new recovery forum, and what follows is something that I got from
there.  I hope that you'll like it.

It was battered and scarred and the auctioneer thought it was scarcely worth
his while, to waste his time on the old violin, but he held it up with a
smile. "What am I bid, good people," he cried, "Who starts the bidding for

One dollar? One dollar. Do I hear two? Two dollars, who makes it three? Three
dollars once, three dollars twice, going for three.." but no! From the room,
far back, a grey-bearded man came forward and picked up the bow. Then wiping
the dust from the old violin, and tightening up the strings, he played a
melody, pure and sweet, as sweet as the angel sings. The music ceased, and
auctioneer with a voice that was quiet and low said, "What now am I bid for
this old violin?" as he held it aloft with it's bow.
"One thousand? One thousand, do I hear two? Two thousand. Who makes it three?
Three thousand once, three thousand twice, going and gone!" said he.  The
audience cheered, but some of them cried, "We just don't understand. What
changed its worth?"  Swift came the reply, "The touch of the Master's hand."
And many a man, with life out of tune, all battered with bourbon and gin, is
auctioned cheap, to a thoughtless crowd, much like the old violin.  A mess of
pottage, a glass of wine, a game ... and he travels on.  He is going once, he
is going twice, he is going, and almost gone.  But the Master comes and the
foolish crowd never can quite understand, the worth of a soul, the change 
hat
is wrought, by the Touch of the Master's Hand.

                         THE THREE STRAINERS TEST.
Socrate had, in the Ancient Greece, a high reputation of wisdom.  Someone 
ame
to see the great philosopher and tells him:
"Do you know what I heard about your friend?"
- Just a moment, replied Socrate.  Before you tell me something, I would like
you pass the three strainers test.
"The three strainers?"
- Yes, said Socrate.  Before to tell anything about somebody, it is good to
take the time to filter what we would like to tell.  It is what I call: the 3
strainers test.  The first strainer is the truth one.  Have you verified if
what want to you tell me is true?
- No, I only have heard people talking.
- Very well.  Therefore, you don't know if it is true.  We'll try to filter
otherwise by using an other strainer, the goodness.  What you want to make me
know about my friend, is it something well?
- Oh no!  on the contrary.
- Therefore, continued Socrate, you want to tell me bad things and you are 
ot
even sure if they are true.  You can perhaps again pass the test, because it
remains a strainer, the usefulness.  Is it useful you tell me what my friend
has done?
- Truly, no.
- Then, do Socrate, if what you have to tell me is not neither true, nor 
ell,
neither useful, why do you want to tell me it? "

For me, it is a way to say think before talking.  I used this text when
someone asked me what I thought about anonimity.  I said that I have to ask 
e
three questions before I say something about Mr or Mrs X..
"Is it useful to me to talk about Mr or Mrs X."
"Can it useful to you if I talk about Mr or Mrs X?"
"Is Mr (or Mrs X) would like hear me talking about them this way?"
These three questions help me to say or to keep silent what I know, for me.
Maybe it is better I don't say it.
