We lived in Ronnenberg/Benthe, on the B65 from Hannover to Minden. The BFBS transmitter was 1kW, mounted on a 30' mast on the back of a truck at the British Military Hospital, the other side of Hannover and a clear 30km away. I figured out the line of sight and tried to get a signal with a 10-element Yagi. Nothing. Grievously disappointed. But there was a fair amount of stuff in the way. It was weeks before someone commented that the signal was vertically polarised. I shot home like a rocket, rotated the aerial 30 degrees, and had a perfect picture. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
