Hi All!

I've just purchased a Netcomm SmartModem 288 33k6 upgraded modem for my BBS
and I'm having some problems with it.

It only happens when I set it up for adaptive fax/data answering.  The
problem is that my users can't download files from me.  When they download
(my modem sending) they receive the following errors at their end:

UART Framing Error.
Data Sub-packet too long
Data CRC Error at 0.

and the transfer aborts.  This happens with any protocol.  Only file
transfers seem to be affected.  They can upload (my modem receiving) with
no problems.

If I don't set the modem to adaptive answering then there are no problems.

On a related topic, I can only receive the first page of faxes sent to me. 
The modem aborts the transfer as soon as the next page is commenced.

In FrontDoor I'm using the following init strings to enable fax reception
and set adaptive answering:

Init-1      ATZ|

Force Answer    AT+FCLASS=2;+FAA=1;A|

Does anyone have any ideas why setting the Fax parameters is affecting data
transfers?
