Right, that gives you the speed (either computer to modem speed {default}
or modem to modem connect speed, depending on the setting of the S95
bit 0 register) but if you set bit 3 of S95, the modem will report
the protocol (VFC or V34) that the two modems have agreed upon. This
gets eaten somewhere by Qmodem.
One other thing I found out is that if you bypass the Qmodem dialing
screen and dial in terminal mode with an ATDT command, you can see
this information afterwords with a scrollback.
Other than this, I think Qmodem is the best DOS comm package and
for Windoze 3.11 I still like Qmodem Pro better than PROCOMM II PLUS.
