RJ> Speaking of BCD math... RJ> I've not looked at this issue much lately. I remember that Mix RJ> Power C had a library you could use that would _replace_ the RJ> floating point stuff (an approach I was not too happy with), and I RJ> was wondering what might be do-able with regard to this RJ> sort of math under other compilers. I have here MSC6, and RJ> TC I think 2.5, as well as whatever the current release of RJ> Slackware is giving me. RJ> Anybody know if BCD is do-able with any of those? In particular the RJ> last one? I did a bunch of BCD work with MSC6, but I ended up having to roll my own library. Basically it involved shifting for one side of the byte and masking for the other. The BCD would then be translated into integer types and the application would proceed from there. Division was a real bear, though. þ CMPQwk 1.42 999 --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: COMM Port OS/2 juge.com 204.89.247.1 (281) 980-9671 (1:106/2000) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 106/2000 633/267 |
