I have yet to see the movie but I did read the book way back when.  I don't
remember that part but then again there is a ton of stuff I either remember
my own way or not at all, nevermind books.  Getting old and stupid.  Sigh.

Anyhow I do recall the storm that prompted the 'tree migration' idea. 
Trust me;  trees are meant to stay put methinks.  They should give up on
migration.
