KG>Will that be a complete NWDOS 7, with taskmanager / -switching ??
It does.
However, personally, I found OD7's EMM386 to be a bit buggy, getting a
number of protection violations with a number of common programs.
Plus, the multi-tasker / taskswitching (taskmgr) does _not_ work that
well. Possibly because of emm386 or maybe some other reason. Caldera
was supposed to have fixed all the known bugs in ND7 (and there were a
lot), but they may have missed one, or introduced a few.
One person has reported a stable system using MS-DOS 6's himem & emm386
in place of OD7's emm386 (which combines the two.)
Although I was able to get more free conventional and upper memory with
OD7 over MS6, using taskmgr in multi-tasking mode dropped that
drastically. Well under 600k.
I used OD7 for a couple of weeks, but when my HD was trashed and I had
to reinstall, I just went ahead and reinstalled MS6. (It has a much
nicer DIR command, for one thing.)
