Stanley: I have glaucoma, and it was not a problem when I got my
PADI certification. I have filled out medical forms at least a
dozen times for different scuba classes - I am now a PADI Master
Scuba Diver with seven specialty ratings - and glaucoma was never
mentioned by my instructor or physician as being a problem. The
medical problems that are usually cause for denying a scuba course
are related to cardiovascular problems like asthma, heart murmurs,
previous history of heart or lung disease, etc.
If your glaucoma has been controlled with medication or surgery,
and you don't have some other medical problems, you should be fine.
