Not necessarily. Readers here are no elderly houswives. Cutting off two
plugs and soldering the two cables is no less plug and play than
securing a plug with tape. "Plug and play" implies it's allowed to have
to connect up ("plug") several components. Time consuming modification,
setting up and calibration would be another thing.
