-=> Quoting Sondra Ball to Robin Arnhold <=-
Hi, Sondra,
SB> We still had frost in the cranberry bogs three nights ago (May 17th).
SB> But the trees are still leafing out just fine. Yesterday, though, it
SB> was 93 f (about 34 c). Today, it stayed in the 60's. Tomorrow it's
SB> supposed to be cold again. How are we ever going to get our tomatoes
SB> going?
There's been a lot of replanting around here. At least, up to a certain
point one can replant tomatoes and still hope to get something of a crop
before frost. I don't know what this sporadic frost is doing to the
orchards, though. Nothing good, I imagine. We have yet to break 80 f,
although yesterday and today have been in the mid to upper seventies.
I've spent a fair part of the weekend getting the air conditioners up
from their storage place on the back landing and installed. I strained
my back mildly lifting the first one into the bedroom window, so I
decided to let the other one sit in the middle of the living room for a
few days rather than risk a worse injury. Mild strain I can live with,
but I don't really want to risk anything worse if I can help it.
Take care,
Robin
