actually, it is for the life of your ownership of the number... it wasn't
in the beginning and you had to reregister every 3 or 4 years but now it is
permenant unless you ask them to remove your number or it gets
disconnected... changing billing plans might also cause it to be removed
but that depends on how the telco makes the change...
