I read some more of XP's Help and Support and after closing it I
decided to Turn Off the QuickLaunch portion of the Taskbar and Apply
that setting, and then turn QuickLaunch back On.

It did what I wanted it to do, the icons on the Taskbar are in the
places where they were before the mouse fell off the desk.

I was fearful that when I re-enabled the QuickLaunch selection that
it would forget all of the settings I had in it but it didn't.
Hooray!!!

Thanks to anyone who answered my first message before reading this one.
I appreciate any and all of the help I find in BBS echos from the
messages that people write in them.
