I generally use 2 18's per side in parallel since they are mostly 8 ohm and
most higher wattage amps max output is at 4 ohm..Most (not all) single 18
rigs wind up suffering from a distorted voice coil, causing them to rub,
after a few shows (generally they get over extended from things like kick
drum) and besides...the more cone area, box volume, and power you got the
bigger the concussion...kick and floor tom should be felt...well thats my
opinion anyways..
