Moderator Elections rules
Marge Robbins, REC14, acting as a representative of the backbone is
conducting elections in the following echos: Brit_car, credit, Musicsy_
n,
real_free_speech, nopiracy, and worldtlk. For the sake of consistancy
this rule set will apply to all 7 elections.
Who may run: Any participant in the echo may run for election.
Candidates must have have a netmail address, but need not be
a sysop. You must however be active on a BBS whose sysop
allows you access to netmail both incoming and outgoing.
Nominations: The nomination period is for two weeks from
May 19 to May 26, 1996. Candidates must be nominated
by another participant in the echo. Nominations may be made in
the echo or in netmail sent to 1:283/120. To be valid a nomination
must ARRIVAL at 1:283/120 by midnight May 26. Please be aware
that a message posted in an echo can take up to a week to reach this
destination.
Discussion: Two weeks will be allowed for discussion. This will run
from May 27-June 10.. This is a good time to ask the candidates
questions about how they intend to run the echo.
Voting: The voting period will open June 11 and run to Midnight June 2_

Voting may take place in the echo or in netmail to 1:283/120.
Votes received in netmail will be crossposted to the echo. On June 26
the votes will be tabulated and posted in the echo. Whoever has the most
votes will be declared the winner and new moderator. At this time Marge
Robbins will inform the new moderator of the Elist password and assist
him/her to get the echo elisted in his/her name.
