That's because there wasn't any great property damage or personal injuries
sustained.  Over here there are earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods,
fires, tsunamis occurring practically all the time. OTOH, since there are
very few populated areas where they occur, they don't make the news
headlines at the same rate of occurrence.

There's a particularly nice video on this web link (to our local newspaper,
The Chronicle, though the video may have been sourced elsewhere)...

There's some nice ladies in the vid voicing their recollections of the
quake.  There's not a lot too it, otherwise.

I've just got to say that your English writing skill could be improved
slightly with just a few more commas, Holger.  There's a desperate need for
one comma just ahead of the 'the' on the top line.  :)
