Hello Dan! 21 Aug 09 16:36, you wrote to me: RC>> consequence require more than what you find sufficient. As I RC>> said, you are a DOS weanie. DC> The fact is, Ross, you have drunk the kool aide. Hardly, I knew of Vista's problems and I am aware of its maturation process and you are aware that I also have 2 machines dedicated to Linux. I do not have a machine that cannot run your 16 bit DOS apps. DOSBOX both Win and Linux, runs fine. In fact when Windows 7 comes out, I already have pre-ordered a copy of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, I will be able to run a free copy of XP inside of it. and of course Windows 7 will be based off of the Vista kernel and its api's. DC> All the peripherals I have work just fine under XP. Many of them work DC> in Win 95 Some even work with my 386 machine. and of course your experiences are universal for all citizens? All you want to do is say Vista is broke, you refuse to acknowledge why the changes between Vista and XP were more intensive than the changes between 2000 and XP. Alot of what changed in Vista had to do with protecting the OS from the stupidity of the users, and while you might get all fluffed up by saying I am being condescending, more of it has to do with the quality of the users getting into computing. As I said before, it aint just geeks anymore. Six lonely years of being the only OS, made it a prime target for security related issues and you know that. DC> The only real reason I have Vista is that it came with the system. and if it came with 4gb of ram and you still rolled it back to 32bit, you short changed yourself, you might as well bought a house and said fsck the roof, doors and walls. DC> You keep insisting that the wheel be re-invented every time Billy DC> decides to release a new OS. But arent you deciding that 640k is enough for anyone? == Ross Fidonet Feeds Or Fidonet In Your Newsreader: http://www.easternstar.info E-mail: ross(at)cassell(dot)us | Blogs/Other Places: http://links.cassell.us --- GoldED+/LNX 1.1.5-b20060121* Origin: The Eastern Star - [Mail Hub] - Spartanburg, SC USA (1:123/500) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/200 331 14/250 18/200 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 SEEN-BY: 140/1 222/2 226/0 236/150 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 SEEN-BY: 261/1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/104 260 267 SEEN-BY: 633/285 690/682 734 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2320/100 5030/1256 @PATH: 123/500 261/38 633/260 267 |
