| subject: | Wireshark Capture Files |
Sean, This morning I read the WS manual a bit and couldn't see anything to help me figure out why when I Stop a Capture Session that little windows telling me to "please wait" just stayed on the screen and wouldn't let any data show up in the Main Wireshark screen. So after several hours of frustration I decided to manually quit what wireshark had found and start a new session. I was going to use Windows Task Manager again as I had been doing but thought to right click on each of the two Wireshark entries on the taskbar and select Close. I clicked the button to hide the Main Screen for Wireshark so just the little window saying "Please Wait" stayed on the screen. Then after I found out that nothing showed up when I right-clicked its button, I decided to press Alt F4 and that little window disappeared and I was finally able to see data in the Main Screen. So I Saved it. Whew! I think I found a cure for one of my computer headaches. Use Alt F4 after I Stop a Capture Session so I can Save the Wireshark Data. 73 ...
