Yep, still trying to learn the right FA> terminology. Re-entrancy means you can call the procedure while it's already in the middle of being executed, without clobbering all your variables. Some things such as sorts and expression evaluators work best when done recursively like this, and usually need plenty of stack (local variable) space as a result.
