Use ping to test for a good connection:
ping -c 1 -s 1 -n -q somehost
if errorlevel 1 goto nohost
I'm not sure if the OS/2 ping.exe returns an errorlevel -- but if not get
Jack Grey's enhanced ping.exe -- look for ping.zip on Hobbes.
