JM>Hey all! Just finally got back into this echo after taking an
JM>extended vacation on the Internet and AOL (which I recently bagged).
JM>I got caught up in the lure of the Internet (meaning I downloaded a
JM>buttload of porn) but I just can't get away from you crazy-ass d00dz!
JM>Anyway, I won't bore you with all the details, but I'm back (to the
JM>delight of some and the dismay of many) ;)
I have to say, that one of the things not quite crystallized by this
post is that, even though I bitched to myself briefly about no gate to
the net from this forum, I saw that the postings on the various
newsgroups on the web were not more than just exhalations for the
minute, or just mood-determined excemental verbage.
When I have to download a qwick pack, put it into a reader, then for
some reason I treat the whole thing with a bit more respect-(have you
noticed this?) and to know that I'm not also going to get spammed by
some commercial geek from out of this group, etc., then I know that
there was wisdom behind Gilmore's decision not to screw with this.
Hats off to you, GG!
I'm sure that Vineburg can vouch for this opin, as he has spent
considerable time on alt.guitar.dipwad.how.do.you.string.this, without
overtime pay...and suffered some bot that ripped his header and dished
out some unwanted spew into his mailbox...
There's something about this group which has more class...
No unwanted Gif's and jpg's etc.(sorry, Jim)
If memory serves you're the fellow that lives next door to Mr. Tumeni
Notes, right?
I recently found a cache of Steve Morse midi files on a site in
Australia that also had some Satriani...
The beauty of this is that you can use whatever software to slow down
the piece and conquer the stuff and gradually bring it up to speed...
It's a great method, and what once was insurmountable is now just more
repertoire!
So, Jim, if I learned all of Steve's tunes, would he have me in his
band?-no harm in asking...hurry up and ask yer neighbour before ALL the
arthritis sets in, K?
