Indeed life itself is a speculation.  Each individual life in itself is a 
speculation.  Life tends to persist and it has a ubiquitous proclivity.  It 
could have taken root on Mars or Venus, maybe Titan and Europa.  It's even 
been observed on the moon.  I speculate it will be observed on Mars, even if 
we have to import some. -)
