I missed your "no prior inclinations" qualification earlier. I didn't say
the others had no "prior inclinations." However, they may not have had the
ability or motivation to do what they did, without the aid of the FBI agent.
They may have been planning something smaller, or less effective, such as a
smaller bomb. Or, they may not have had a workable plan, or access to the
Secret Service parking area. Who knows?
You can pretty well bet that the FBI would look pretty silly if they paid
someone $1 MILLION, and all they ended up with was clues in a pipe bombing
which blew up a few cars. If they really wanted to get their money's worth,
they would hope for clues in a multi-million dollar bombing.
No, they couldn't offer me enough money to do something like that. I have no
prior inclination to blow up buildings.
