Ah yes, our friends, the Russians (a.k.a. the other side, if your in to
old American spy stories) have taken Fidonet as their own, and done it
proud. I sure am glad those fellows made binkd.

In a way it is... I mean, if you take FTS-0001 seriously (and you best
take it seriously, along with FTC-0039). The problem with .MSG, as I am
sure you know, is that it is not an efficient way to manage a large number
of messages.

Wow... you've got me selling it already!

If I ever do decide to make it available to the public I will not charge a
dime for it. That is why I intend to use wxWindows... it is free on both
platforms I want to target.

Please keep in mind that my intentions are not to produce the latest and
greatest product X. I just want to enjoy myself with it. If my goal was
to distribute, I would probably want to get one or two other programmers
involved so as to speed up the process (thoughts of The Mythical Man Month
dance merrily though the caverns of my memories).

When you purchase the CD you get the Extended Utility Package which is not
available for download and sells for $15.00 USD. You also get the IDDE (an
IDE) and the resource editor (needed for Windows GUI development) and the
debugger.

About these last three things... it seems that many people are unhappy with
the resource editor because it is not compatable with Microsoft's resource
editor. The debugger is not bad, though a couple of very good debuggers
are available for free from Microsoft in the Debug SDK. The IDDE is handy,
though it is not in the same class the the MSVS IDE... but then real
programmers use make (right?) :-)
