While the alleged student's response is clever it's certain this question was *never* actually given -- at least not as shown above. How do I know this? Because *no* chemistry test would *ever* explain what "exothermic" and "endothermic" mean. Students would be expected to know that. A test might *ask* what those terms mean, of course. Naturally it can be pointed out that there are exceptions to everything, which I can't dispute, however the odds are very strongly in my favor here.
