Subject: Documents in accessible formats
Dear Jim and listers,
James Gashel is correct about the different standards of Title II and
Title III. I quoted the Title II guidelines because Title II imposes
more stringent requirements, and because the guidelines for Title II are
also more specific.
If I felt strongly about getting my bank statements in braille, I would
request my bank to provide them, and if they refused I would take my
money elsewhere
As for me, I find that the combination of print records and automatic
access through the telephone system work quite well. By placing a call,
I can immediately determine my balance, and look to see if a specific
check has cleared.
