| subject: | Netcomm Roadster worth buying? |
I'm about to buy a 28.8k modem for BBS & internet use. I'd like to buy Australian if possible, but it must work properly of course. It would be nice if it was a common enough model that it would appear in the configuration menus of most comms software. It would be nice if the manufacturer offered good warranty and support, preferably without having to ring STD from Melbourne. I've read lots of mail in several modem areas. Some peple seems to swear by their Netcomms, others think they are absolute crap. I assume that the differences in opinion are due to peoples experiences with older models, lack of expertise/luck in setting them up, stupidity, etc. I'm looking at the new (?) Netcomm Roadster with inbuilt fax switch. Does anyone have any genuine opinions based on experience with this model? ---* Origin: Melbourne PC User Group +61-3-9699-6788 (3:632/309) SEEN-BY: 50/99 620/243 621/525 624/300 632/0 107 271 304 309 325 326 329 348 SEEN-BY: 632/360 366 371 506 525 530 535 552 998 999 1000 633/371 634/396 397 SEEN-BY: 635/301 402 502 503 506 541 544 637/103 639/252 711/409 413 430 808 SEEN-BY: 711/809 932 934 712/515 713/888 714/906 800/1 @PATH: 632/309 998 635/503 50/99 711/808 934 |
