I've been riding my father's blue Nishiki 18 speed cro-moly "Bushwacker"
for many years now. I think the bike is over 10 years old. It is equiped
with a Suntour group. My friend's have newer bikes like the Diamonback
Sorrento, and the Mongoose Alta SX. I confident that I am a better
skilled rider than them but the older equipment is holding me back.
I have a renewed interest in mountain biking. Most of my riding is done
on asphalt and sidewalks. However I want to start participating in
offroad competitions. I've done trail riding but since the trails are
very far from home I'm mostly on the streets. I'm looking for solid bike
equipment wise, to handle my competition endeavours. I don't have much
to spend $500 CDN max.
Can anyone recommend a good bike?
