KJ>Okay, I have 2 different tape decks that I've done some recording on.
KJ>first is a Sanyo it's about 13 years old. The second is a Sony and it'
KJ>model. Now the Sony has automatic HxPro for recording I recorded the
KJ>song twice on a metal tape. Once on the sony and once on the sanyo. r
KJ>both with Dolby C NR and on the type IV tape setting. To my surprise,
KJ>sanyo recording had clearer highs. Not believing my ears I tried the s
KJ>but instead of a metal tape I used a type II. Still, the old Sanyo rul
KJ>supreme. The sony recording has more high frequency noise, when appare
KJ>HxPro is supposed to reduce high frequency noise and distortion. Is an
KJ>there noticing anything similar or have any reasons? I'd like to hear
KJ>you. Thanks!
Are you playing the tape back on the same deck it was recorded on? I have an
older
AIWA deck that records quite a bit better than my newer and even more
expensive
TEAC deck. Nothing really surprises me about tape decks.
Nowdays I just make a tape for the car deck once in while. Not a really
critical
use.
