Yes, until the ETSI/OnRamp ISDN becomes widely available, we're stuck with
the Australian-specific implementation. I have been in touch with USR about
the I-modem but the person I emailed said that an Australian version would
be a while yet.

Alternatively one could use a TA with a decent POTS port. Philips and
Tennyson Technologies already have such TA's on the market.
