Good morning, Charles. CA> It's not that those of us in the USA don't care. Speaking for CA> myself, I can't go looking for a key-code I don't even know exists. With TseJr. it is all there, up to 255. CA> Being an American I am monolinqual Not to worry, we can and do communicate. I only use two and feel bad as all my siblings are polyglot. My one brother speaks Fr, En, De, Sp and still communicates in latin. CA> I could tell it bothered him but when CA> you don't know you simply don't know. :-\ If it bothered him, that is is problem. CA> I'm guessing you are referring to unicode? FIDO software is CA> (generally) unable to reproduce ASCII above 255 Nope, only up to 255 here. All the BBSes that I accessed over the years did honour the 255 ASCII codes. Maybe before my time then the 128 and up were not recognized. I think that maybe the Commodore ones did not for a long while. Are we not happy with the fact that whoever started our system used letters to represent sounds and not icon / images as the orientals do, including the arabs, to represent words. Our way, we can use the same letters to write any of our languages. That little town in northen Judea, I forget the name, sure helped the world come up. ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/1 379/1 633/267 |
