Time for a good 'hand wash' and RW> wax...Since it has been sitting outside in the Texas sunshine since RW> January, that will make the cleaning job that much harder. Even the RW> touchless car wash couldn't cut it. The dirt will crud up the paint and requires some major scrubbing to get through it all. The first time I used the Nu-Finish, I had to really scrub the trouble spots (the hood) where it looked like some oxidation had taken place. The Nu-Finish was able to bring the shine and gloss look back to it. I also like the fact that it lasts a long time. RW> 8^) When I bought the Z in 2001, it got a wash job every week. I use Mother's Chrome polish on the HD. That stuff does a good job, too. RW> If you got any on your black bumper parts, you can tell when that stuff RW> is RW> gone just by looking. If the stain it leaves is gone, the likelyhood of RW> what you applied to the paint will be too. At least Mother's can be RW> washed RW> off if you scrub long and hard enough. Not so with Nu-Finish. I just make sure I get all the wax/polish off and don't put it in hard to clean areas. The downside of not being able to get the Nu-Finish off after long periods of time if not scubbed off is probably one of the reasons that it lasts so long as a wax. I have never seen a standard wax last almost a solid year. RW> There has to be a touchless car wash in your area. Run it through once a RW> week and it'll stay that way, for a while. Even the scrubbing car washes wouldn't have cleaned my car, originally. Too much scum and oxidation on it. After some scrubbing with the Nu-Finish, it looks new again. The winter months are much more harsh on the paint than summer, given all the salt in the winter. I try to get that cleaned up quickly. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.50* Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 953 @PATH: 261/1304 1 266/512 140/1 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
