DC>> Please join me in sending condolences to her and her husband Don.

 SC>> I join you.

 CS> Thanks!

You are welcome.

CS> I turned off this echo enroute and turned it back on when I got back
CS> so didnt know this message was sent, but it was a sweet thought.

CS> Yes, the MIL died earlier than expected by some 3 months. We had
CS> timed a trip to get there while she was still 'ok' enough to enjoy the
CS> trip. She had metastatic cancer and it was known that she was not
CS> going to be one of the rare miracle survivors. She caught a mild cold
CS> and went under very fast, less than 24 hours warning that it was
CS> turning to pnemonia and she was gone just like that. This was a
CS> blessing as the next 3 months wouldhave become increasingly painful.
CS> She died before any major pain set in.

I understand your feeling on it being a blessing. My mom was diagnosed with
cancer the beginning of September of 1987 and was gone by November 14th. She
didn't have to suffer long at all. We were angry with her for not going to the
doctor for check up for over 15 years, but then her doctor explained that she
had fallopian tube cancer and they couldn't detect it until it was at its
worse.

CS> We cleaned up her house (Don and Charlotte) and it's being sold
CS> (several bites already). I was in school. Her will deeds 50/50
CS> between Don and his sister but Mom had some uncovered medical bills
CS> and other debts so we were told by Don's sister that there probably
CS> wont be anything left as the bills have to be paid from the sale of
CS> the house before anything can go to the family.

That happens a lot.

CS> I hope no one thinks I'm bad but we were hoping for a bit of money to
CS> put towards Charlotte's college fund. Don's Dad died several years
CS> ago but he talked with us and said his will (same one as MIL) should
CS> provide no great fortune but would be enough to help out with that.
CS> He asked Don to put 15,000$ of it aside for that and then if there was
CS> much more, to put it 50/50 between more for Charlotte and to fix up
CS> our house (which needs work as it's 40 years old but in overall decent
 CS> shape).

I don't think you are bad at all.

Sharon
