For the average home office person, there are numerous devices that require
batteries. The common consumer types are C, D, AA, AAA and 9 volt. They come
in Akaline and nicad in most cases. The problem with nicads is that they take
on a memory if not totally discharged before recharging, and also recharing
too long can damage the battery. They work a few times then they die suddenly
in the middle of something important. Akalines are good, and die gradually,
at least you know when they are about to go. All are expensive and can run a
small business like mine about $100 a year in batteries.
The current chargers by Radio Shack for nicads can discharge before
recharging but they don't auto cut off when full.
The Supercharger, which advertises to charge anything, may be good, but it
does not discharge.
Some chargers can't charge AAA, or 9 volts. Does anyone know of chargers that
can do all of the above feature points and let us have the best of all
rlds?
