I agree with this sentiment 100%.

Modern America (and especially the legal establishment) seems to have
forgotten that life is not and never has been a risk free activity. For now
and for the foreseeable future, there is a non-trivial cost to freedom. I'm
not interested in living in an Orwellian society just to have the safety
margin increased a couple of points.
