Well the issue of whether there were problems or not is really irrelevant
to the PATCO firings in my opinion. The struck for more money when they
were already paid way over market value (as shown by the fact there were so
many qualified people who were willing to jump at the chance to work for
the money they got paid and less and for the same management).
PATCO's strike and resultant destruction was to me akin to the foolishness
of the baseball umpires union leadership who had convinced themselves
baseball would have to shutdown if their overpaid umpires weren't around.
They also learned that a job at $X/hr is better than no job at $Y/hr.
