subject: Counter Field Question

GW>Does anyone know how to get a Counter field to start with a value
 GW>other than 1? I'm constantly building/refining an Access database
GW>for customer/client info, and we may end up someday having to merge
GW>batches of records from several different sources. I'm using a
GW>Counter field as a Record ID and primary key, so of course I'd like
GW>to be able to merge these batches of records without the Record IDs
 GW>colliding.

I remember seeing this in the KB some time ago. The general idea
is to change the field to a long integer type, change the values,
and change the field back to a counter type. The field will update
according to your new values thereafter.

If that doesn't do it for you, let me know and I'll look it up
again and post the entire article.
