*** Quoting John Rambo from a message to Ryan Bagueros ***
JR> Actually, you could be correct. Using the same logic, why bother
JR> to vote? With millions of people voting for president, and groups
JR> giving hugh sums of moneyto lobby for their own personal gain, what
JR> chance do you have to make an impact? You should probably chalk the
JR> whole thing up as a waste of time. Do you agree?
I absolutely agree. Voting is a tool used to pacify the masses. You have a
choice between essentially two potential candidates, both of whom used money
to get where they are. If you think that your vote makes a difference, you're
a
sucker.
JR> I agree that he will INITIALLY carry far more weight than you.
JR> This also holds with famous people and people with impressive
JR> sounding titles. Although I donot necessarily understand the
JR> reasonning behind this, I have observed it.
You don't understand it? Here's the answer: MONEY IS POWER. Its a rather
simple
thing to figure out, although most people don't.
JR> Perhaps not as rapid as other forms, but they have been known to
JR> be effective nevertheless.
Could you name me some specific examples when boycotting/investing have
produced marked social change? I can think of none. Now, let's talk about
social change initiated by rich, bloated CEOs who buy off Congressmen.
