Very doable if one shops correctly and if one stops and thinks what is free
that I can do, the best all around excersize is free, walking, and if done
correctly is very low impact and also helps ones out look on life.  I do
realize there are neighborhoods in North America that walking is not
advised but it can be done with some creativity.

Food wise it is best to eat fresh if one can if not a very good substitute
is frozen, stay out of the center aisles and just use the perimeter of the
store and you can have all of the basics.  Better yet, find a farmer that
allows pick your own stuff at a reduced cost.
