ATM Re: Silvering - more info
I just finished silvering 16 mirrors- sizes 5" to 8" this
afternoon. Cost of silvering chemicals used from a 2 year old Peacock kit
about $1.00 per mirror. Prorating the cost of misc., materials such as
Kleenex, paper towels, distilled water,tri-sodium phosphate, alcohol, CeO
to prepare the mirror surfaces, etc., allow another $1.00. Total cost about
$2.00 and 20 minutes of work per mirror. The processing went smoothly and
the coatings are quite satisfactory.
In argenteum veritas!
