subject: Courier connect stats

JP> Hi All. I am currently logged into a BBS which is running a Courier. I

 JP> dropped

JP> to terminal mode and issued an ATI6. Here are the results:

 JP> Speed 31200/28800

 JP> Current Call 00:03:55

JP> Despite this, the BBS software is reporting my connect speed as 26400

 JP> bps. I

JP> forced a retrain when I returned online and found that the connect rate

 JP> had

JP> dropped to 31200/26400. There were about 12 block errors also.

You seem to be on a very borderline link with this connect.

I bet if you retrained a few times, you would see it come back up,

then maybe down again

As I said before, YOU can't help the Block errors.... I only wish we

could.

I See one constant with all your stats, that is, you get better results

on incoming data than outgoing data

Which indicates to me that you are further from your exchange, than the

other end of the link is from his exchange.

Russell
