I know you lived in Kentucky for a while so you might understand and even
remember this. Towards the end of his life Happy Chandler got to where you
could not put a microphone in his face without him sticking his foot in his
mouth. A lot of folks got up in arms about what he said, but others of us
who were familiar with his past history realized that most of what he was
saying could be blamed on his declining mental faculties.
When I see Biden speak, I am reminded of Happy. I am also reminded of my
late Uncle, after his stroke. There is not much question that Joe's mental
health is in decline. His recent generalizations about blacks and latinos
should not surprise anyone. Nor should his forgetting where he is or
forgetting what he is saying mid-sentence. You'd have to be deaf and blind
not to notice it.
That is why many suggest he should not debate. Despite Trump's many
idiosyncracies, they are afraid of what Biden might say or do that will
make him look even worse.
Whoever he picks for his VP, should he win, will be the one that ultimately
finishes out his first term. Be sure you are happy with his choice.
Mike
