JS> choose to call a DOS shell an OS
It's not a shell and thats been proven many times. Shells do not have their
own kernels, drivers, etc. It's not a self-contained OS, but it's still one.
If you can't being yourself to admit that, please call it an operating
environment, rather than a shell.
JS> you wish to run lame WIN GUI applications, which are plentiful, but
JS> serious bloatware and add little to computing other than pretty
You just love the term bloatware don't you. Obviously you've never programmed
one byte in your life. If you had, you'd realise optimizing for speed and
optimizing for size are almost always two completely different tasks. Ie.
fast = big.
JS> pictures and a never ending need for bigger, faster equipment to do
JS> things in a more complicated, convoluted way that few will ever figure
Hahaha! OS2 on a 486 w/16 meg is the same speed as Win95 on the same machine
with 8meg.
JS> DOS 7 moves computing into about 1973 or so, frozen in time. UNIX in

And since when was Unix a home OS?

It's for so called power users that can't take a CLI. Oh sorry, OS2 is a CLI,
WPS is a shell.
JS> LINUX is the same product as UNIX
You're trying to impress the newbie with technical terms. It may work, but
you're still wrong.
JS> innocent computer illiterates pushing each other out of the way to buy

Perhaps if OS2 had applications of the calibre that Windows has, people (eg.
me) would use it. OS2 is in the 90's, but the software is still in the 80's.
At least Windows software is in the 90's.
JS> These innocent, computer illiterates, with money to burn, are known

Win 3.1 was the most pirated piece of software ever. Obviously people wanted
to use it, but didn't think it was worth the price. Probably right.
