| subject: | Slow CDROM under Warp 3 |
Hi, I am having problems with my CDROM. It is a Matshushita (Panasonic) CR-581 internal quad speed. My system is warp 3 full pack -no fixpacks- 16mb RAM. The CDROM is connected via my soundBlaster Vibra sound card. I also have two hard drives. When I installed warp (from CD) it used and installed the MKEATAPI.ADD driver however while the CDROM works it only has the performance of a double speed and not a quad speed. I installed a program the other day and it came up with CDROM = 299 however this same program under _real_ DOS/WINDOWS correctly sees the transfer rate as 600. Can anyone tell me how to setup the CDROM to speed it up. Should I try a different driver. I did try the default IBM driver that the hard drives use but I couldn't get the CDROM to work at all. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
