We had several LJ-4SI printers at the office which went through many
hours of heavy use. Replaced them with the LJ-5 models. It seems your
experience with LJ defects are the same as mine. I've had very few
mechanical failures in HP LJ printers over the years. 99% of the time
the failure is electronic. You're probably right about the printer not
being worth repairing.
