        You said that you rewired a CTCSS chip from MX-COM on a board
and using it in a scanner.  Please tell me more in terms of how you
wired it up and how you are using it on the scanner.  I have the data
sheets for all of the MX-COM CTCSS chips and most can be used with
DIP switches for setting the CTCSS code or they can be used serially
with the MCU in the scanner to control the coding.  If the chip is used
with the MCU, then each channel can be programed with a different
CTCSS code.  If you are using DIP switches to set the code, then I
would think that all the channels scanned will have the same code.
