Good day !

So you are jealous because pirates get software for free while you pay for
t.
Are you not jealous for people who buy the software legaly but with a
discount ? Do you think it would be fair to turn these people in, and help
monopolies like M$ advance even further ? For software, from which only a
ew
copies (like 1000 or so) are sold legally, I agree that because of piracy,
he
authors raise prices. But for games from which tens of thousands of copies
are sold, piracy has nothing to do with prices, and it makes me sick if the
company claims so.
AA> You don't have

Sounds simple, but this is not the case. In my country, people are used to
pirating. As I mentioned before, about 90 perent of software is pirate. So,
what happens if you try to choose a different operating system or word
processor etc than Win 95 and winword, you will have difficulties, because
all the others won't follow suit. Choosing something else is OK when there
s
a real alternative...
AA> It's about time US companies starting flexing some of their

AA> from the illegal software.
Perhaps you think so, but they have no say in things round here. They are
trying to eliminate piracy from bussinesses, which I think is OK, but they
can't really use their 'international legal muscles' as they just don't have
them here. They (and the license agreements) have to follow our law system,
they have to use our courts etc.
AA> Your police don't come into it - if they
AA> fail to co-operate they would be charged under international law as
AA> well.
It's not as simple as that. What you just said sounds as you don't know
aw's
limitations. No matter - the point is what we think about piracy. I think
t
- in some cases - helps the market, because developers are FORCED to create
better software, otherwise few people will buy. They are even forced to
higher quality if there is no competition. Like in the case of operating
systems. And if some time later piracy will cease to exist, I hope it's
oing
to be not because every pirate is in jail, but because everyone can afford
nd
choose from a wide range of software.
Over and out...
