Hi Anne,
My network was down recently for upgrading, and when I tried telnetting into
the bbs you told me about it kept closing the telnet connection shortly
after I logged in. I was able to get in long enough to read a message to me
in the echo. Can you post this response for me?
Jupiter 2Web is an HTML editor. It's only for editing, not viewing. It is
now a Breadbox product and has been renamed to Breadbox WebBox. It has lots
more tags and other improvements (don't ask, I can't give out too many
details). Jupiter cWeb is the product that stripped the HTML tags for
viewing. I worked on it with Clemens last year and we got it to the point
where it processed and tags, and I think he also got it to do ,
, and . It has been discontinued because Marcus Groeber has written
WebMagick, which is a browser somewhere in between HTML 2.0 and 3.2. It
handles almost everything other than tables, forms, and image maps. It
supports GIF graphics, but not JPG (yet). The graphics importing was written
by Falk Rehwagen, the author of BitmapView, so when BitmapView supports
jpegs, WebMagick will be updated to also. WebMagick also comes with an HTML
impex filter for GeoWrite. The import is identical to the display in
WebMagick, except it doesn't import the graphics (that would infringe on the
market for BitmapView), but the export simply changes newlines to tags.
